The frightfully fun 14th Annual Skeletons Are Alive returns to Downtown Northville this October

Northville, MI – Downtown Northville is once again the place to be this October as Skeletons Are Alive returns bigger and better than ever.  For it’s 14th year from October 1 – 31 more than 200 skeletons will take over downtown storefronts, sidewalks, and gathering spaces for a bone-chilling month-long celebration.

Skeletons of every kind from silly to spooky and everything in between will be on display for residents and visitors to enjoy. A downloadable skeleton map will be available on the Downtown Development Authority’s website starting October 1. Guests are encouraged to tour downtown, snap photos, and tag Downtown Northville on social media to share their favorite skeleton sightings. We will kick off the Halloween season with the Skeletons Are Alive Launch Party on Saturday October 4, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. in Downtown Northville. The family friendly fun will feature:

  • Special spooky late-night hours for downtown businesses
  • Local restaurants and cafes serving spooky specials
  • Social Bones, a live band in Town Square
  • Halloween Costume Contest
  • Live dancers from local studios and dance troops
  • Detroit Circus aerialist and fire performers
  • City Hop silent disco – Free to everyone!  Get a pair of headphones and rock out with fellow listeners!
  • Face painting
  • Balloon twister
  • Games for adults and kids of all ages
  • Tipping Point Theater soap box actors doing Halloween readings of Poe and more
  • Professionally carved pumpkins

  • Halloween makeup live tutorials

New to the Skeletons Are Alive Launch Party lineup this year is the Halloween Costume Contest hosted by the Northville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Northville Parks and Recreation. The costume contest offers prizes up to $100 in three categories: youth, teen, and adult. Preregistration is required.
